Early Childhood Screening 

• Shawnee Mission School District offers developmental screenings for children ages 3 years to 5 years of age.

• Early Childhood Screening (ECS) serves to determine potential developmental delays in the areas of concepts, communication, self-help, social, motor, hearing and vision.

• If results of screening indicate a potential developmental delay or disability, the screening team makes a referral for special education evaluation.
